FAQ
- How do I know that my keepsakes won’t get mixed up with anyone else’s?
I only work on one customer’s order at a time to ensure there is absolutely no confusion. Your keepsake(s) is/are kept with your printed order form and your jewelry piece(s). Everything is thoughtfully labeled with your order number and first and last name. I take pride in my organization, this is what ensures that the jewelry you get back in the mail, truly is YOURS! We also offer video documentation of the process for an extra charge for your peace of mind, if you’d like!
- How do I know where to send my keepsakes?
Check out our "You've Ordered. Now What?" section, on there you will find a detailed information page on how you can ship your keepsakes safely! The address to send your keepsakes, will be at the very bottom of your order confirmation email!
- What happens to my milk or keepsakes once you are done with them? Do you throw them away?
Any remaining ashes will be always be sent back to the customer. With breastmilk, I will be able to create enough powder, to make several pieces of jewelry. Your powder, I will keep for up to two years in case you decide to place another order. All other keepsakes will be discarded. **If you would like for me to specifically send your unused and remaining keepsake back to you, PLEASE EMAIL ME!
- When will I get my jewelry?
Turn around times are currently anywhere between 6-10 weeks. Hope's Milk and Memories is one woman show, I am the only person who will work on your precious jewelry or touch any of your keepsakes. I do my best to get your orders complete and shipped back out to you as soon as possible, but the care and attentiveness I provide to you cannot be rushed. There is an option to have your oder used. This will not guarentee any timeframe, but your order will be pushed to the very front of my order que. It is guaranteed that if you purchase a rush order, you will get it sooner than if you don't purchase a rush.
- What is the general process like?
If you have sent me breastmilk, I will preserve your milk, dry it out, and hand press it into an incredibly fine powder with a pestle and mortar. (If you have sent me any other keepsakes, I will prepare those if need be.) I will design your unique piece of jewelry, according to your specific specifications, with your breastmilk powder or keepsakes in high quality jewelers resin.
- Can my breastmilk be over a year old?
Yes, absolutely!! As long as there is no mold in the milk, I can use it! (Even if it got pushed to the back of the fridge for a few years!) My method of preservation kills off bacteria.
- I have a keepsake that isn't listed as an option on your site, can I use that instead?
Yes, PLEASE EMAIL ME! In order for me to be able to design with a keepsake that is not listed, we need to have a discussion about it beforehand. I am a one woman show, and I do everything possible to stay organized. Having a conversation about your special piece helps me maintain my methods of organization.
- How do I properly care for my jewelry?
The best ways to care for your jewelry is to store it how it came. Keep your jewelry with the anti tarnish strip provided. Keep your jewelry as dry as possible and avoid anything getting on it. Make it a habit to take your piece(s) off when washing your hands, taking a shower, putting on lotion/hand sanitizer/perfume or essential oils. Take it off before going swimming or getting dirty. Please see our "You've Ordered. Now What?" for more information!
- What do I do if I don't know my ring size?
You can always order a ring sizer on Amazon, they have them for pretty cheap, less than $5. Or any jewelry store should be able to size you for free. If you are local to Tucson, AZ- I have a ring sizer kit and would be more than happy to size you!
- Will my jewelry tarnish or turn green over time?
I include an anti tarnish strip with every piece of jewelry I make. I cannot guarantee that your piece(s) will not tarnish, but I have made available to you, the best care practices to keep your jewelry as perfect as possible for as long as possible. We offer solid gold, gold filled, and gold plating. Gold plating does wear off, but I like to offer it so everyone, no matter their budget, can celebrate their cherished memories through their jewelry. Vermeil (gold filled) is a much thicker layer that will take much longer, but will likely, eventually wear off.
Please consider choosing solid gold if you are at all worried about fading or tarnishing. It is a much more durable, and can be worn much more frequently.

I believe I have provided you with the proper research and explanations of the different types of material and what you can expect. If you have an issue with the resin/keepsake part of your jewelry, ie: cracks, stone falling out or coming loose, yellowing, etc., please email me! I have a year warranty, so long as I see you have done your part to maintain the quality of your piece.
